Canton High School
Class Song of 1930

This song was written by Gertrude Olive Hinds and Annie Laurie Morrison. The song was sung to the tune of "The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi. "

First Verse
We have ended our play, our happy school day
And we enter Life's work today,
But we'll often think of C. H. S.
And the hours of happiness,
We will ne'er forget our days with you
And our friendships so tried and true,
Our voices sing, and our praises ring
As we bid you fond adieu.

Second Verse
We have reached the goal, and it's come so soon
That we scarcely know how to feel--
And a twinge of regret comes to us all
As we say farewell to you;
But think of the work we have yet to do,
Of the tasks that we each must pursue
And help us on to our destinies,
With courage and good cheer from you.

Chorus
The joyful days and mem'ries so sweet
By us are all held dear,
The good old books we have laid away
And struggled o'er day by day;
We bid good-bye with many regrets
And tear drops in our eyes
But behind the tears, are smiles and cheers
For Dear Old Canton High.
